Roland · Artist & Partner Relations
Groups, criteria & benefits
Each Artist & Partner group, what puts someone in it, and examples of what they receive — lined up with the segments used in the portal. Benefits shown are examples, not the final list.
| Group | Portal segment | Criteria for inclusion | Example benefits |
|---|---|---|---|
Principal exclusive in their segment |
Artist | Within their equipment segment they use only Roland-family brands — no competitor. All BOSS pedals, all Roland or DW drums, and so on. |
|
Endorsing artist or company |
Artist | Publicly recommends Roland, but also uses competing brands. Most teachers land here. |
|
Partner industry professional |
Partner | An industry professional — studio, backline, production, promoter, or press — not a performer. |
|
Support works for an artist |
Crew / Support | Works for a specific artist — a manager, tech, or tour crew. |
|
Enthusiast the default |
Enthusiast | None of the groups above — the default, and always welcome. |
|
R&D invite only · very rare |
Artist | Roland invites them to help design a product before it ships. No one can apply. Very rare. |
|
Cross-cutting — attach to any group above | |||
Educator add-on · any group |
Educator | They teach. The Educator label gets added to their group. |
|
Content Creator add-on · any group |
Creator | They signed a content contract. Attaches to any group — even Enthusiast. |

About the segment alignment — proposed, to confirm with the team.
- The Artist segment covers three commitment groups — R&D, Principal, and Endorsing — who differ by how deeply they commit to Roland.
- Student is an audience segment, not a commitment group: students sit at Enthusiast level, with student pricing and education content.
- Educator and Content Creator are cross-cutting. They attach on top of whatever group already placed the person.
